What is Liberty University's Giving Day?
Liberty University's Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraising event that unites alumni, students, faculty, staff, families, and friends in support of our mission to Train Champions for Christ. It is a day to celebrate our community and invest in Liberty's future.
Giving & Designation
- How will my gift be used?
You can designate your gift to the area of Liberty University that matters most to you - academics, scholarships, athletics, spiritual development, or operational support. You may also give to the LU Fund, which provides flexible resources for the university's greatest needs.
- Can I make a recurring gift on Giving Day?
Yes. You can choose to set up a recurring donation to continue supporting Liberty University beyond this special day.
- Will my employer match my gift?
Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double or triple your impact. Use our Matching Gift Search Tool to see if your company participates.
- Can I make an offline donation (by check, phone, etc.)?
Yes, of course! We accept gifts by phone or mail to count towards Giving Day. Contact us at (800) 628-7972 for details.
- Will 100% of my gift go to my chosen designation?
Yes. Liberty University ensures that every dollar of your gift is applied directly to the fund you select.
- Can I donate in honor or memory of someone?
Absolutely. You can dedicate your gift during the giving process. There will be a field to include the honoree’s name and any special instructions.
Security & Tax Information
- Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Liberty University is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. A receipt will be emailed to you.
- Is my payment information secure?
Yes. Liberty University uses secure, encrypted technology to protect your personal and financial information.
- What happens after I give?
You will receive a confirmation email and a tax receipt. You will also be able to see your impact on our Giving Day leaderboard and receive updates throughout the day.
Getting Involved
- What is a Giving Day Ambassador?
Ambassadors are passionate supporters who help spread the word and encourage others to give. When you sign up, you'll receive a unique link to share. Track your impact, earn prizes, and climb the leaderboard!

Athletics & Flames Club
- Do Giving Day gifts qualify for Flames Club benefits?
Gifts to Liberty Athletics may qualify for seating and parking benefits only if designated to the Flames Club Annual Fund. Gifts to Sport Excellence Funds or other university funds do not count toward Flames Club benefits. Contributions on Giving Day through the Flames Club are considered additional gifts and do not count toward any outstanding pledges. Visit LibertyFlamesClub.org for full details.
